E101 (Introduction to Engineering and Problem Solving) A course for incoming engineering students was taught or cotaught multiple times since 2017. Hall’s students won multiple awards at design competitions over the years. Dr. Hall does not currently teach E101.
E102 Engineering in the 21st Century, focuses on the range of types of engineering and the ‘grand challenges’ addressed by various branches of engineering from managing nutrients to providing clean water to assuring security and even adding joy to life. By the end of the class, students ideally have both an awareness of the range of engineering (including various kinds of Biological and Agricultural Engineering) as well as a desire to pursue a particular major.
Special Topics and Research: Dr. Hall advises undergraduates and graduates on customized projects often focused on some kind of problem solving, learning about a cutting edge field or focus on research. See Dr. Hall for further information. shall5@ncsu.edu
